What is WordPress?
WordPress is a web publishing software that you can use to create and manage your website or blog.
There are two WordPress web publishing organisations; WordPress.com and WordPress.org. They are both run individually and separately by the co-founders of WordPress.
writethemes is compatible with WordPress.org only. With WordPress.org, the sky really is the limit. The publishing platform itself is free, your website is yours to do as you wish, so you can monetise it and customise it to your needs. WordPress.com doesn’t offer the same flexibility, so it’s more limiting.
What is writethemes?
writethemes.com creates beautiful, conversion-focused WordPress.org-based themes for writers.
What is a WordPress theme?
A theme is a design or template for your WordPress website. An example of a theme is our Authorpreneur theme.
How does writethemes work?
Why does writethemes develop themes for WordPress.org only
WordPress powers 35% of the world’s websites, including gov.uk, Time, New Yorker and more. Because it’s an open source web publishing platform, it is constantly being updated in line with tech demands and needs. It is also incredibly versatile and easy to use, even for tech-phobe writers.
WordPress.org publishing platform is free, so your website is yours to do as you wish. This means that you can monetise and customise it to your needs. WordPress.com doesn’t offer the same flexibility, so it’s more limiting. All these and more are the reasons it’s the preferred platform for writethemes.
If I buy a theme, how do I get it?
Your theme is sent to you in a zipped folder, via a secure link, to the email address you used to purchase.
I’ve just bought a theme from you. How do I turn it into a website?
Depending on your pricing package, you can either install it yourself to your WordPress.org website (we know some writers prefer to do that), or we do it for you.
Can I have a blog with any theme I get from writethemes?
Yes. Here’s an example of a blog on our Authorpreneur theme.
How do I customise and make my theme a bit ‘more me’ for my website?
